Standing! (sort of)

Now that we actually have some furniture, BB has learned how to pull up on it quite successfully. He looooves to stand up and bang on the coffee table. For hours and hours. Luckily we don't have hardly any stuff in our house, so we don't have to worry about him getting into everything.

What are you doing, Dad?

Our new apartment!

We have finally moved into our own place, less than three months after we moved here! Of course the first thing we bought was a large, large screen television. Then we bought some nice (cheap) new furniture - a coffee table and entertainment system - to go with our lovely folding chairs and air mattress brought in from the bedroom. Our new couches will be here 'hopefully before Christmas', and our shipment from America should be here shortly. Until then, it's air mattresses and washing our two borrowed plates and cups after every meal. I'll post some more photos of the apartment soon.

Loving cousins

We were at the library for the end of story-time and to pick out some books. Picey likes to hold the Bad Baby, even though it is a little awkward because they're almost the same size. I got in position to take a photo, when Loo came over, and in a soft but commanding voice said, "Everybody not h-mile*". He reeeally doesn't like BB sometimes. Obviously neither of the boys listened because I got this lovely (if not a little chinny) photo.

* as in, if you make a 'h' sound instead of a 's' sound

8 month old Bad Baby!

This month I was very sneaky and put the sign there before the Bad Baby. He didn't notice it at first..

but of course, after a minute...

Trying to be sneaky, huh? We'll see about that.
This is what I think of your sign.

The box fun continues

Is my left leg still in the box?

I really don't appreciate being taken away from the box.

Walk to Minnamurra Falls

Today I went with Aunty Von and Loo on a walk up to Minnamurra Falls. It was much easier than I remembered. I've been on this walk three times before, and each time I thought I wasn't going to make it to the top. But this time was very easy. I guess I'm just way fitter than I was before. Or something like that. And I was carrying a Bad Baby. He was craning his neck (and whole body) round to see Loo pretty much the whole time. Thankfully I didn't drop him. It's a really nice walk through (I think) the only piece of rainforest left in the area. We saw a couple of lyrebirds, but they were just making normal bird noises. Loo had a slight(ly horrible) fall as he was running down the path at the end of the walk, and this resulted in a bloody lip and chin. He was a sad, sad boy.

Where's that funny kid?

Can I go in there? Pleeease?

Loo: "I will not look at the camera if that other baby is there."

Ok, he's gone now.

BB and Dad...

up to their old tricks again. We were hanging out in the car waiting for an open house to start, so the dad thought he would introduce yet more ways for BB to be bad.

I love driving cars!

Let me see here...

Mmm, this stuff is delicious!*
*no, he wasn't actually drinking it

Fun at the park

One of the things I'm really looking forward to as Bad Baby grows up (as long as he's not too bad) is taking him to the park. I have so many good memories of playing in parks when I was young. And some really scary memories when my dad was pretending to be Frankenstein. But enough about that. We've been to the park a couple of times and BB loves the swing and anything that can help him stand up. I personally prefer parks like the first two photos below, because they don't require as much brushing off of wood chips as parks like the past two photos.

Can you please tell everyone that you're making me wear this hat? It's not cool at all.

And it really looks like I'm wearing a complete denim outfit, which is really not the case.

Ahh, man jeggings. Much better.

Look Ma, only one hand!

Bad Baby on the move

In the past couple of weeks, the Bad Baby has started crawling around everywhere. That means he often ends up in places like this:

He has also become a lot more upwardly mobile. Yesterday he even pulled up all the way to standing. It didn't last long (hence no photo) and ended in tears. Although who knows what really happened, because he was with Grandma at the time.

Messy eating

Looks like BB is taking after his cousin after all! Unfortunately, this is when we are feeding him, not when he is feeding himself, so I have a feeling it will get much, much worse.

Yet Another Walk

I took BB for a walk with my family while the dad was sickly at home. It's called Drawing Room Rocks (see photos below for why). The drive up was a little scary due to my inability to drive/reverse/park on tiny curvy wet roads. My dad even had to drive the last bit because I didn't want to be responsible for driving off the cliff on the side of the road. But eventually we arrived in one piece. I carried BB in the Ergo for the first time, which wasn't too bad. Much easier than the sling when he was younger. The walk started down in the bush and worked its way up and out to the edge of a cliff with really great views. The view is almost the opposite (south) of the one from Saddleback Mountain Lookout (which looks north) where we were the other day.

Looking south

These are the 'Drawing Room rocks' - they're like little seats in a drawing room.
Picey with his own seat

I think he's enjoying the Ergo too (he's asleep, not really worried, as he appears to be)
