Down at the pub

The late afternoon/early evening is not a good time of day for the Bad Baby. He's bored with all his toys and he's tired and hungry and just altogether not so good. So we decided to go down to the pub (aka The Berry Hotel) to have a short drink and pass some time before bed.
This strap is good and all, but where's my beer?

Ahh, there it is!

Hopefully one day soon...

... the Bad Baby will be as skilled as his cousin at eating.

Porridge for breakfast - looks... delicious?

And then a baby-sized hot chocolate while the grandparents have some coffee.

I have no idea how much actually made it in his mouth.

Some more beautiful pics

Up behind the town where one of the Aunties lives is a 'mountain' called Saddleback Mountain. I say 'mountain' because it's not at all a mountain, just a hill. But it has a lookout with an amazing view up the coast.  This was the second time we had been up there, but the first time when you could actually see more than two metres off the edge (because of fog).

Unfortunately the baby was being bad and actually sleeping when we wanted him to be awake. How dare he. The dad and I had to take turns at the lookout so that nobody stole the baby out of the car. Of course, he woke up about one minute after we left the lookout.

Some beautiful pics

Just so everyone can be a little bit jealous...

The photos above were taken on another walk around the harbour (basically just a longer version of the  other one). The photo below was taken from the balcony of the house in the country around sunset.

Building a fire

Ok son, first we have to place the logs and kindling in and set them on fire.

Then we have to make sure that we don't leave any ashes on Grandma and Granddad's fireplace.
Mum, could you leave us alone here please. This is man work.

What a Bad Baby

We were out for coffee with BB's grandparents at a little cafe near their (and our, for the time being) house. Apparently, I did not put my hot chocolate quite as far away from the edge of the table as it needed to be. That Bad Baby grabbed it and pulled it over onto both of us. Thankfully it wasn't too hot, otherwise we may have had to take a trip to the hospital. I did have to walk around for a while with nice wet pants, which was almost as bad. And I didn't get to finish my hot chocolate, which is way worse.

Reading

We're hoping that BB has his mother's love of reading anything and everything (i.e. map books, phone directories, etc) rather than his father's inability to finish any book ever in his life. I think we're off to a good start. Even if he likes to chew the book way more than read it.
