Poor Bad Baby

We had to go back to the doctor today to get the baby his 4 month shots. He cried a little (or a lot for a very short amount of time) and then he was very very sleepy. Here he is with his little bandaids and one of his favorite toys, Sophie the giraffe.

ANGRY BABY!

BB really likes taking baths. Although from this picture you would never know it. He's actually just trying to eat his dad's arm.

4 Month Old Bad Baby!

BB was 4 months old yesterday! And his dad was 35 years old! So I made them take a picture together. They were both thrilled.

Bad Baby Goes to the Hospital

Today we ended up going to see a pediatric gastroenterologist because of a suspected milk protein allergy. When we went in the room the nurse said we could just undress BB or put him in a hospital gown. Of course we couldn't miss out on this amount of cuteness:

In the end, it was decided that I would try a dairy- and soy-free diet. Which, for someone like me who eats large amounts of dairy at every meal, will be a bit of a challenge.

No more swaddle :(

Since BB was caught "flopping around like a fish" (i.e. on his stomach) in the swaddle, we've decided that we needed to unswaddle him. Not looking forward to this. Today was the first day. We had gotten to the point where I could give him a cuddle, put him in bed, come back and check on him a couple of times (with some patting and shhh) and he would be asleep. I tried the same thing today. Here's how it went:

All tucked in nicely

Not so much anymore.
Eventually he did go to sleep after a lot of rocking and stuff. I didn't get a picture because I didn't want to risk waking him up with the sound of the camera/squeaky floorboards.

Bad Baby Goes to the Ranch - Part 2

On Sunday, we sat on the porch in the shade and went for a nice (warm) walk in the woods. BB seems to be rather indifferent to it all. We had fun though.

Bad Baby Goes to the Ranch - Part 1

Our last weekend of travel (before the big one!) was to Aunty K's ranch. We spent lots of time outside even though it was so so so hot. We went on the boat on Saturday afternoon, but we didn't put BB into the alligator infested water. Only the adults braved being eaten. BB hung out on the boat with the wind in his hair. And on his bum.

Bad Baby Goes to Washington

We went to Washington this past weekend to get BB a passport. It was very hot. We went to see a bunch of museums and stuff but we didn't take too many pictures. But of course, we did manage to find one animal to pose the baby on.

Even though this is not baby-related, I had to include this photo because of what his dad said as we walked past. Not 'Wow, it's interesting to see what animals were like back then' or something intellectual like that, but 'Mmm, those ribs would have been delicious.'

BB actually got a bed here, unlike in Boston. It is a little jail-like though. I guess that's why he's staring wistfully out the window dreaming of what the outside world is like.

Bad Baby's Head = Tomato

We've had a pretty good tomato crop from our garden this year.  As you can see, one of them was about as big as BB's head! And that's a big head!

I don't really appreciate being compared to a vegetable.
Or is it a fruit?

Rattles are surprising

*Shake, shake.... shake shake*

What in the hell was that?

Cool/Kind of weird looking Bad Baby

I bought some sunglasses for BB to wear in the hot hot summer. If he's anything like me, he'll need them to avoid looking like a little mole. I'm not really sure whether he likes them or not, because I can't figure out what face he's making. We'll have to try them again soon to see how they go.

Bad Baby rolls over!

We were just having some tummy-time fun when suddenly BB went from this:

to this!:

He looked a little confused about what had just happened. Now we're practicing rolling back over. That's sure to take a while though, because the main reason he rolled from front to back was because he was too lazy to hold himself up any longer and just kind of fell over.

P.S. Ignore the large amount of spit hanging from his mouth.
